What is the purpose of the Corporate Work Visa for South Africa
Enables companies to bring in multiple foreign workers to fill specific roles, such as employing 200 civil engineers for a large-scale project. Each foreign worker receives an individual corporate worker certificate, allowing them to work legally in South Africa.
The visa’s main requirements are:
- The South African company must have a valid company's corporate visa.
- (Applicant) Must fill a role as specified under the company's corporate visa.
- (Applicant) Must pay a repatriation deposit or provide a valid guarantee from the employer.
- The visa is valid for a maximum of four years or until the corporate visa expires—whichever comes first.
- The Corporate Workers Visa alone does not qualify for permanent residency, as residency requires at least five years of work in South Africa.
- Time spent on this visa can count toward permanent residency if:
- You hold, or later obtain, another type of work visa for 12 months or more.
- Combined with four years on a corporate workers visa, this fulfills the five-year requirement.
